Factory-pressed CDs are manufactured using a precision process that reproduces your approved audio or data master across the entire production run. Here’s how it works.
Your approved master is used to create a glass master. The digital information is recorded onto a specially prepared glass surface using a laser.
A metal stamper is produced from the glass master. It forms the data pattern in polycarbonate as each disc is injection-moulded.
A thin metallic layer is applied so the disc can be read by a CD player. A protective lacquer is then added to complete the disc structure.
Discs receive their custom printed artwork and undergo production checks. They’re then assembled into your chosen packaging, ready for dispatch.
Your approved master is used to create the glass master for the entire production run. Carefully check all content and metadata before authorising manufacturing.
A production-ready DDP image is commonly used for replicated audio CDs. Confirm the final track sequence, gaps, ISRCs and any CD-Text information, where applicable, before approving the master.
Supply an approved CD-ROM master image in the required manufacturing format. Verify the complete file structure and test any software or interactive content on its intended systems.
Supply your approved disc and packaging artwork using the correct templates, bleed and safe areas.
