BEHIND THE MANUFACTURING
How Factory-Pressed DVDs Are Made.
Replicated DVDs are manufactured from your approved master using precision moulding and bonding processes. Here’s how your discs are produced.

01MASTERING
Glass Master & Stamper
A precision glass master is created from your approved content. Metal stampers are then produced to transfer the data pattern onto the discs.

02DISC FORMING
Injection Moulding
Polycarbonate substrates are moulded using the stampers. Each DVD is built from two thin substrates, each approximately 0.6 mm thick.

03DISC ASSEMBLY
Coating & Bonding
Reflective coatings are applied as required, and the substrates are bonded together. DVD-9 discs use two readable information layers.

04FINAL FINISHING
Printing & Quality Checks
Your artwork is printed onto the discs. Production checks are carried out before the finished DVDs are assembled into your selected packaging.

Preparing Your Replication Master
Correctly prepared content and approved artwork help ensure a smooth production process.
Approved DVD Master
Supply your final DVD-Video or data master in an accepted format. Check all files, menus, chapters and playback before approval.
Layer Information
DVD-9 requires correctly prepared layer information, including the layer-break position for DVD-Video. Confirm master specifications first.
Print-Ready Artwork
Supply your printed disc and packaging designs using the relevant templates, including the required bleed and safe areas.
